Rickety

You can fall in love at first sight with a place as with a person.
~Alec Waugh

I find myself drawn to items with old wood...chippy paint....rust...
I think it is the romantic side of history that makes me notice these items.
Imagining what it looked like in its glory.
Picturing the people who were busy at work in times before us.
Wanting to be part of a simpler less hectic life.

All that from an old fence post.
Funny, huh?

"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" as has been said and I see immense beauty in your photo, lovely shot and I see that you also have a vivid imagination. That's what keeps life so interesting at times in my opinion. :-)

That is the very reason I want to move upcountry so badly. History.

Beautiful rough wood, aged patinas, and so much history...

A stunning shot, but then all of yours are.

Such a beautiful shot! I have to agreee with you.. I have just recently been drawn to old vintage items.. I have a Jar of old buttons I bought at an antique shop. and I sit and ponder the same thing.. where did they come from. Who used them! really make you think!

Thanks, Linda

I say that all of the time about rustic, chippy and rust. Love it. But, you know? I almost can't imagine it any other way.

I don't want to. But, your right it was "new" at one point in time.

I love the old the best.

Funny, I find myself doing the same thing, especially when I'm in old buildings - imagining the people who built them, their struggles, the tools they had ...

Wonderful shot, great quote and great post (no pun intended).
