The Farm Still Stands

A child on a farm sees a plane fly overhead and dreams of a faraway place.
A traveler on the plane sees the farmhouse below and dreams of home.
~Robert Brault

There is this lovely farm on my running route
{back when I was running}
It is starting to get surrounded by neighborhoods...
but it still stands there~
beautiful....open....proud.
I hope they never have to sell their land
and that the farm can remain for decades to come.

Beautiful sun rays, it is a wonderful thing that this farm is still standing proud, open and beautiful.

Very well done in the face of the harsh light.

Oh, I know exactly what you mean - we have some land owners near us and they have horses. I was just thinking tonight on my drive home that if they ever sold, I'd want to move as well. That is so weird that I read this post of yours tonight.
Lovely shot. (And thanks for visiting - you made me LOL.) :D

This is just stunning. I Love the light and quote. Your words are so true. People sell and leave. I hope they stay also.
You bring sunshine into my life with each visit I have here.
Thankyou for that.

Sadly memories and old photographs may be all we have left to remind ourselves of simpler times. Walking down an old dirt road the sound of cows making their way back to the barn, faint memories from my childhood, thanks for rekindling those embers. AJ

Beautiful shot Chasity and I love that quote - reminds me of looking out the window of planes when I used to do a lot of business travel and having similar thoughts (think 'Homeward Bound' by Simon & Garfunkel).

We're lucky that we live in an area where developers aren't clamouring for farmland. Many years ago we lived in one of the most productive agricultural areas in all Canada - today there are over 400,000 people living on that land, which now produces nothing (except car pollution) = 20th century 'progress'. sad.

I love these old farms, often wonder what they would say if they could talk.....so much history.
Many prayers for Shauna, big hugs from Canada....:-)

I grew up on a farm, so they have a special place in my heart. I pray it stands for many years so you can enjoy.

I love this farm scene. I am a farm girl from way back, so I do appreciate the beauty of the country sides.
