Stomping Grounds

We could never have loved the earth so well if we had no childhood in it.
~George Eliot

This past weekend I took my girls hiking at a conservation area near my hometown.
I hadn't been back there as an adult.
I used to do a lot of fishing there as a child.
Fishing with my bestest friend.
:)

But I had never been hiking there.
It was a splendid day
full of sunshine
laughter
beauty

New memories in the making.

Chas, What beuatiufl memeories you are making. This is a wonderful place and I can almost hear the water as it rushes over the rock. What a beauty.
Your children lucky to have you.
I used to fish with my Dad. Hes gone now and way too young but the memories I have are still with me.
I have thousands of photos to make a book for my children and grandchildren and when I can no longer see to take photos I wil paint from what Ive seen from my memories. That is something I have to live with as my eyes will not always be what they are.

What an amazing place, it's so awesome to make new memories and I find that it's a bonus to make them from old, cherished ones.

Is this photo one of those where you put a photo over a photo? I'm curious how that works but don't have the time to play in photoshop, I hope to learn that program one day... just not today! :-)

Beautiful, absolutely stunningly beautiful photo Chas and the quote is extremely fitting!

Hello Chasity, thank you for coming by my place. I love your work here and the extra touches you add to your photos. I just got back from a lake where my hubby was fly fishing. I think next year I will give it a try.. Looks like you had a wonderful day..

What a special place with the water flowing over the rocks to create such a picture! No wonder you wanted to share it with your girls. Hopefully, they will one day bring their own children there.

I just want to live in your part of the world....such beauty around you.

Kind of a large lack of barns around White Rock...LOL.

But just wait until we move to our farm. I am going to be going everywhere to get barn photos.

I was thinking that very thing exactly... New memories in the making! That's so funny!
I really like seeing water shots w/ long exposure, it just something more to the scene.

I meant to say - it just *adds* something more to the scene.
I don't know what's wrong w/ me today, I keep doing that & have to go back & correct my typing.
My head is back in my 'Old Barns' meme, I think! Too excited! heheheee
