Wheels and Cogs

She seemed glad to see me when I appeared in the kitchen
and by watching her I began to think
there was some skill involved in being a girl.
~To Kill A Mockingbird
Such a marvelous book...that will get your mind's wheels and cogs turning.

I love your photo Chas. Do you still use this beater? I use one just like this when I go out to the farm, works like a charm!

Made in America huh? That should be in the Smithsonian. Love the lighting and composition on this.

Cake batters and licking the spoon for your Mom, all warm memories from a kitchen full of good smells and love. Hope all is well in your part of the world. AJ

Wonderful photo! The quote from Harper Lee's book is perfect. My husband is a bit of a To Kill a Mockingbird expert; I wouldn't even venture to guess how many times he has read it through and studied it (as much for the writing style as for the story itself). Great post!

I just keep looking at this photo. I think it may be the lighting that keeps drawing me back. A perfect blend of shadows and light.

Love the light. Brilliant.
My brother was in hospital again over night.
Still some problems.
Keep him in your prayers.
You all remain in mine.

Amazing lighting. This is a great shot. I have to admit that I had to think about what it was first.
