A Very Jolly Soul

I wish we could put up some of the Christmas spirit in jars
and open a jar of it every month.
~Harlan Miller

We had our first dusting of snow this past weekend.
My girls bundled up and scooped up little bits of it in their sand buckets.

This is one of the magical men that came out of one of the buckets.

Isn't he happy?
I keep expecting him to start dancing around.

I have so many good memories of making snow sculptures with my family
when I was young.

I never liked the cold~
in fact sometimes I would watch from the window....
even when I was a bitty girl
as my parents played in the snow.

But there were times that I got out there myself.

We had some of the most amazing snow creatures ever.
Frogs....Forts....Dragons....

Good Memories.

that's one fine snow man you have there. everyone has made such beautiful creations this winter. i must get out in the snow and make me a small snow lady or man maybe both. sounds like you & your family made some interesting sculptures when you were growing up. it's nice to see some traditions never fall to the way side. have a great day.

Good Morning Chas, I don't like the brutal cold but I love the snow and your memory jogged my own memory, we use to make snow people and snow angels and being a big family it was great. Mum, Dad and 6 kids and it was so fun.
I love the sand pale snowman, so creative. Something about snow that makes Christmas even more magical.
Hope Shauna is continuing to feel better, she is always in my heart and prayers as are you dear friend
.........:-)Hugs

I love the sandpail snowman, children are so creative, they know know self imposed limitations yet and the sky is the limit. Ahhhh to go back and be young again. Thankfully some of us are blessed with wonderful memories, the ones which light up our face from time to time. Like this photo here did for me. Thank you for the happy memory Chas. :-)

Charming little fellow, isn't he! I was in a gift shop recently that had quite a selection of "Snowmman Hats" for sale. Some were for use, some just for display; formal tophats, stovepipe-ly stiff and floppy "frosty hats" with springs of holly. Charmin', just charmin'!

What a great little guy! I'm glad the girlie girls got to enjoy the snow a bit. Tell them they did a great job on their snow bucket man. :) Hope your day was great. Love you, Chas.

Enjoy your site so much. It is fun to just wander around in it. Said a prayer for your sister.
One of my favorite quotes I have seen on here is the one by DeGriff about seeing a sunset and not having a camera. How many times how I not enjoyed it because I trying to figure out how to get my camera. I would like to use that one if it is okay.
