The Old Home PlaceThe flowers no longer growThe screen door no longer bangs shutSmoke doesn't rise from the chimneyChildren don't run through the yardBut those memories are still aliveThose faded ghosts of the past still appearIn the home where my Mother grew up.

I'm sure you've tried to imagine in your head what that place once must have looked like Chasity.
I can remember my father taking me to see his old home when I was in my early teens and I was fascinated with the place. I conjured up in my head what it must have looked like all those years ago. It had a footbridge over a double railway line to the big house.
Many years later my parents found a picture of the house in its former days and commissioned an artist to paint it the way it was in my father's childhood days.
Its great isn't it to have photos like this to look back on.
What a haunting image to go with the prose....Michelle
This hits close to home, only the house is now sadly gone. Beautiful!
