Airing the Aprons

I adore vintage aprons.
Can't get enough of them.

I love to wear them.
They protect my clothes when I'm cooking....
and sometimes when I'm eating.
{I am messy and hate to admit it}

I dry my hands on them.

I carry in the tomatoes and apples with the skirt of them.

They wipe little fingerprints off the fridge.

I feel pretty and "homey" when I wear them.
Not like 'Yo~ Homey'

Like....Mrs. Cleaver Homey.

and they look sweet everywhere they are hanging.

absolutely beautiful! I love the light and colors :) Are you on Flickr? You should add this to the mortal muses challenge. The next theme is antique and I think this is perfect :)

Those vintage aprons bring back memories from my childhood.I don't remember my Mom ever being in the kitchen without her trusty apron.I made matching ones for me and My granddaughter, which we use when we are baking.

Aprons are making quite a comeback! I remember one of my aunts wearing a apron all the time...cooking on her white porcelain stove in a steaming hot kitchen that was separate from the main house. Yeah, I'm not really that old...she just hung on to things! LOL!

I rarely see vintage aprons, but pick them up when I do...for the same reasons as you!

Having an apron this beautiful might even inspire ME to cook

I wear an apron during the holidays..on Thanksgiving while cooking the meal and over Christmas while baking cookies. I really should wear one more often because I really do like them.

I still have some of my mother's and grandmother's aprons ... just because.

I LOVE this image! It takes me back to good things of my childhood - my grandmother's aprons, wash hung out on the line and that fresh smell.
You can admit it - I know you go by "yo, homey" when we're not around.
:D

A lot of nostalgia in this photo Chas! My mother and grandmother always wore aprons and I associate them with the good smells in the kitchen, and extra little nibbles from the food or baking they'd be preparing. Nice effects on the photo.

Hope your weekend goes well, and also for Shauna, and your families!

These old aprons remind me of my grandmother, the only time she would take her apron off was to go to church, or sit in her living room while she visited with people....many prayers for Shauna, big hugs sweetie....:-)

wonderfully dreamy photo and gorgeous aprons. I am always confused by the skirt aprons, seems I often spill and splash things on my top.

It makes me think of my great grandma - how I loved her. She's the one I really remember wearing a lot of aprons.
