Mums the Word

Self-respect cannot be hunted.
It cannot be purchased.
It is never for sale...
It comes to us when we are alone,
in quiet moments,
in quiet places,
when we suddenly realize that
knowing the good, we have done it;
knowing the beautiful, we have served it;
knowing the truth, we have spoken it.

Chasity, My wife and I were married after a terrible snow storm in Denver, in December of 1982. With Denver was snowed in the florist couldn't make their delivery so we used the flowers left on the Beema (pulpit) after Friday Night Services. They were Mums, and they hold a special memory for me. AJ

That's the most beautiful post I've read so far today! A gorgeous picture, and I love the quote too. So very true!

S/he could well have added that no kind of respect can ever be bought, either. If you try to make someone respect you by force, respect is not what you get for your pains.
