The Bend

What lies behind us
and what lies before us
are tiny matters
compared to what lies within us.
~Ralph Waldo Emerson

I have been getting a lot of encouragement from Mr. Emerson lately.
He must have endured some real hardships in his life.

Your photography and your insight and chosen quotes are compelling.

Thank you for gathering and sharing the wonder.

Most artist have had rough times in their lives and it helps shape them and inspire them and make them as strong as they are. Without the bad, we wouldn't appreciate the good in our lives (at least not to the extent that we do knowing how bad bad can be). Emerson is wonderful, I'm so glad he is giving you some encouragement.

Great quote for this photo. Trials test us, and fortunate are those that can artfully express through any medium what they've learned.

I love this quote, I'm a quote collector and this one is right at the top of my list. Wonderful photo to go with the quote. I love that look that you give to your photos. I find it very unique, I haven't seen anyone else use this technique.

Chas as hard as it gets at times we somehow find the strengths we need and sometimes from the oddest sources. Life is just like that... hugs sent your way.

I wandered over from JennyFreckles @ Saltaire Daily Photo.

I love this photo. It draws me in and makes me want to walk round that bend to see what is beyond. After that, I might just keep going (with an ear cocked for the approaching train though!!)
