Beyond the Lichens

The past lies quietly undisturbed.

I'm very excited for Tricia's new weekly barn theme.
Barns are one of my favorite things to photograph.
~old~
~rusty~
~weathered~
~chipping~
~and completely enveloped in memories~

Good stuff.

Ah, the stories they could tell. And this one looks lovely - I like the subdued colours.

Good idea for a theme - I've posted a few but there are many more around here too - will keep it in mind.

I hope you and Shauna are doing well.

"Perfect Peace", "Gathering" and this one are my new favorites. I'm drawn to these three especially. Very nostalgic somehow...I'm all caught up on your beautiful photo blog...and up way past my bedtime to boot. I love you Chas. Thanks for letting us drop by tonight!

Your barn is a wonderful example. I like the muted colors and the sober look of the place. Very nice shot.

Chasity, 1st - I've been looking over your blog at your 'barns and farms' and 'landscapes' etc, and I just wanted to tell you that your barn entitled 'The Unwritten Past' was one of my choices to put on canvas - I love that photo w/ the the writing texture! That's so cool!
2nd - I have to tell you that I love your b&w button 'I follow The Road Less Traveled' - That's an incredibly beautiful image!!!

As a lover of old barns I was delighted to find this meme. Since what is called "progress" is causing the old barns in my state to disappear it will be great to see what is still out there in other parts of the country.

Thankfully, it has lead me to your wonderful blog. I have spent a great bit of time skipping around your archives. Love all that I see.

Your barn for this entry is a superb fine. Love it.
