Adversity is like a strong wind. It tears away from us all but the things that cannot be torn so that we see ourselves as we really are. ~Arthur Golden
Today two separate songs about learning to bend came on in my iPod - now I read your post. I wonder if the universe has a message to me. Use my roots to stand firm but let my limbs free to swing in adversity - it just may make me stronger.
Another work of art, and I liked the quote you used, Chas. Adversity can define us. It truly can rip out the things that are not important and hopefully makes us grateful for the things that are. Sometimes, for me at least, I forget to focus on the latter, but this serves as a good reminder. Thanks!
Another true beauty. You just keep them coming, don't you. You've inspired me to try to add some texture etc. to some photos lately. Haven't posted them yet, but soon I hope.
LOVE the fragile yet stoic beauty of this image, Chas! And not least the quote... Some strong winds and health issues have challenged me lately...keeping standing though...trying to! ;o) Happy Days ((HUGS))
There will be times when you will be in the field without a camera. And you will see the most glorious sunset or the most beautiful scene that you have ever witnessed. Don't be bitter because you can't record it. Sit down, drink it in, and enjoy it for what it is. ~DeGriff

Beautiful - who'd have thought dead blooms could look so soft and attractive. I love the soft tones in this photo.
